TBC: World Polio Day. How do we feel about a family Picnic in lieu of a standard meeting @ Barry Curtis Park. A bit of fun, a walk in the park and maybe we could also do a little rubbish pick up as our bit of service for the week

Club AGM 25th Nov: Agenda to follow in the next bulletin
From Mike the EDITOR

A great meeting with 9 in attendance. We were able to run through the proposed Project to provide a Community Van to the Ormiston Salvation Army. Following a presentation from Ameet and discussion, we have agreed to formalise this and start the project in earnest.

Thansk to Kisa (Membership committee) and Glynis (Ass Govenor) who also attended and helped us workshop some membership ideas. With some work underway already on a membership project based on our Interact Club's parents and teachers as a potential pool of members, plus now with a great new project to sell the benefits of Rotary membership, this could be an exciting new venture for us.

The Editor has had his last ride for 3+ months. Tiger is now parked in the garage with a dust cover as following surgery later this week, Mike will be on crutches for the next 12 weeks or so.

President's Message
The past few weeks have been busy with Members attending and judging the Junior MP speech competition held at the Howick Bowling Club as well as the Rotary National Membership Conference at Kings College. Both were very inspiring especially listening to the young people and their views on free speech. National Membership Conference had a variety of speakers and workshops with many variations om membership and retention of members.  Some disturbing facts and figures relating to Membership and Clubs worldwide, and equally some interesting concepts for Membership and variations for Club Meetings. Just shows that whilst no consolation we are not alone in our circumstances and endeavours. I am away for the next few weeks sunning on the Gold Coast so leaving President Elect Dave to step up.

November is Foundation Month
November as we know is “Foundation” Month, so what better way to celebrate by becoming a Paul Harris Society member. For the 2018-2019 year, all that is needed is a commitment of $1000 USD, but don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be done in one payment. If you are like me, I do over 12 months with a regular credit card payment of $125 NZD & depending on the exchange rate come June might have to top up, but easier than all at once, so something for you to consider.

Our Foundation helps to improve so many lives & serves many communities now, while ensuring Rotary’s ability to serve even more effectively in the future: with more members, more vibrant clubs, and a stronger Rotary Foundation.

Every Rotarian is a link in a chain that stretches back 100+ years, to the days of Paul Harris in 1905. And every one of us knows that the more we give to Rotary, the more it gives back to us………..
As we look ahead, we can be proud of all we have accomplished.

To make your contribution for 2018-2019 Rotary Year - Attached is your commitment/renewal form.
You will see there are 2 methods of payment available.
To make payments even easier there is the global payment system (GPS) where you can select frequency of payment on your credit card.

Thank you for your  support and for helping Rotary change lives in your community and around the world.
